While Cam phasers provide tremendous efficiency benefits they also present some limitations when it comes to performance Camshafts. The limiter kits limit maximum Cam phasing to 14 crank degrees (7 Cam degrees) to provide the necessary piston to valve clearance when using larger aftermarket Camshafts. Meanwhile lock kits take all movement out of the phaser. Combining these performance modifications with more aggressive Cam profiles will result in larger upper RPM gains without sacrificing any bottom end or mid-range performance.
